Heat index on Saturday is expected to be over 100 degrees so we'll ride one of the shadier sections of trail from Elgin to Crystal Lake. Join us for a ride from Elgin heading north on the Fox River Trail/Prairie Trail. we'll ride at least as far as Algonquin (20 miles round trip) and perhaps all the way to Crystal Lake (30 miles round trip) depending on the heat. All paved, mostly flat, mostly shady.
Casual ride, no one left behind.
You have the option to turn around sooner depending on your available time and energy since you can't get lost on the way back.
We'll start shortly after 9 AM so you can use the library restrooms before we start.
Please arrive 15 minutes early to prepare.
Reminders: Helmets are expected safety gear. Bike must be in reasonable condition. Guests are welcome to join us for one ride but are expected to join the club for additional rides (insurance requirements). Fountains may be disabled so bring enough water. Please carry emergency contact info.
