Rock Cut State Park and Rock River Ride
October 22, 2016
9:30 am

Join me for a ride starting from Rock Cut State Park. We will take the paved Orange Trail along Willow Creek out of the park to Perryville Road. We cycle west to the Rock River then south along the shoreline paths through many small parks. This is a very scenic and diverse bike ride on side streets and park trails.

Starting Location:
Take the I-90 Tollway North West to Rockford to 173 (the sign states Rock Cut State Park). Go left on 173 and you will see the entrance to the park.

There are many parking lots within the park. It is about 1.5 miles into the park to Pierce Lake Dam. Just stay on the main park road until you get to the lake. We will meet at the Dam (looks like a wooden bridge). There is a parking lot on the north side of the dam (bridge) across from the orange trail. Don't cross the bridge or you will have gone too far

Distance: 25
Average Speed: 10-13
Leader: Lynn Caldarola (pldms@aol.com)
