Meet us Saturday morning to ride a section of the Millennium Trail. We'll start at Rollins Savanna Forest Preserve in Grayslake and wander through several additional preserves (Fourth Lake, McDonalds Woods, Hastings Lake). This is not a rail trail, but is mostly flat with a couple of underpasses and a couple of moderate hills. It is mostly high quality limestone. Lots of prairie, but not much color yet. The route is mostly open, with a few shady spots. There are good restrooms at the start and several along the way. Some of the water fountains should be working. The round trip will be about 25 miles.
Casual ride. No one left behind.
Please arrive 15 minutes early to prepare.
Reminders: Helmets are expected safety gear. Bike must be in reasonable condition. Guests are welcome to join us for one ride but are expected to join the club for additional rides (insurance requirements). Fountains may be disabled so bring enough water. Please carry emergency contact info.
