Join us for a ride on Saturday, 10/21 on the Des Plaines River Trail between Half Day Forest Preserve and Independence Grove in Lake County.
The Des Plaines River Trail is good quality limestone. Mostly flat with a couple hills and under/overpasses. Vault toilets at Half Day preserve and heated flush bathrooms at Independence Grove. Lunch at Halsted Street Deli (or something similar) is an option after the ride.
Please arrive 15 minutes early to prepare.
Expect temps around 50 degrees for the ride. Possibility of rain so watch for updates should the weather decide not to cooperate.
Reminders: Helmets are expected safety gear. Bike must be in reasonable condition. Guests are welcome to join us for one ride but are expected to join the club for additional rides (insurance requirements). Fountains may be disabled so bring enough water. Please carry emergency contact info.
Starting Location:
Half Day Forest Preserve (Vernon Hills) entrance and parking are located on Route 21 (Milwaukee Ave.) south of Route 60 (Townline Rd.) and just north of Route 22 (Half Day Rd.). Traffic light at the preserve entrance. Meet at the first parking lot on the right as you enter the preserve.
