The Millennium Trail is good quality crushed limestone to Singing Hills, and is paved from there to Fairfield Park in Round Lake (disc golf course) where we'll turn around. Much of it runs through Lake County Forest Preserves. It is not a rail trail. It is mostly flat with some gently rolling hills and one or two moderate hills. It is mostly open with a couple of shady spots to stop for a break. The weather is expected to be milder (mid-70s) so an open trail should be OK.
We'll ride about 12 miles out and back (total ~25 miles). (You can always turn around at Singing Hills for about 13 miles, or sooner if you prefer.)
This is a casual ride. No one left behind.
Please arrive 15 minutes early to prepare.
Reminders: Helmets are expected safety gear. Bikes are expected to be in good condition. Guests are welcome to join us for one ride but are expected to join the club for additional rides (insurance requirements). Fountains may be disabled so bring enough water. Please carry emergency contact info.
Starting Location:
Lakewood Forest Preserve Winter Sports Area (24069 W Ivanhoe Rd, Wauconda) Rt 59/Barrington Rd north. Right on Rt 176 in Wauconda. Right on Fairfield, parking lot will be on the left.
