Meet Saturday morning to ride a section of the Millennium Trail. We'll start at Rollins Savanna Forest Preserve in Grayslake and wander through several additional preserves (Fourth Lake, McDonalds Woods, Hastings Lake). This is not a rail trail, but is mostly flat with a couple of underpasses and a couple of moderate hills. It is mostly high quality limestone. Lot of prairie plants to see, butterflies and birds. The route is mostly open, with a few shady spots. There are good restrooms at the start and several
along the way. Some of the water fountains should be working.
Please arrive 15 minutes early to prepare.
Reminders: Helmets are expected safety gear. Bikes should be in good condition. Guests are welcome to join us for one ride but are expected to join the club for additional rides (insurance requirements).
