Poplar Creek Bicycle Trail SLOW and EASY Bicycle Ride SATURDAY 13 March 2010 at 10:00 AM
Weather and Trail Conditions Permitting This ride will be automatically cancelled if it is raining.
We will ride the Paved Bicycle Trail (9 mile loop) at Poplar Creek Forest Preserve. We normally end up doing about 18 miles, but it will be up to you as to how far, or for how long, you ride. You are welcome to take a single 9-mile lap or two around the park, the slowest person will set the ride pace.
Poplar Creek is West of Barrington Road between Schaumburg and Higgins Road (Route 72).
This is a slow and easy (get back into shape) recreational bike ride. Get back into cycling form after a long winter break. This is a confidence building, equipment check out, bike ride. Perfect for those who have not cycled much since last year.
The Poplar Creek Trail is a great local bike trail that has a lot to offer. It is close enough that most club members can bike there from home. It has many small hills and valleys, so it is not a flat trail. It passes through open fields and wooded areas. There are many picnic area and places to take a rest stop. This is a good trail to train on (get a work out), or enjoy a nice and easy leisure bike ride
