Millennium Trail

9 AM

Meet me Saturday morning to ride another section of the Millennium Trail. We'll start at Rollins Savanna Forest Preserve in Grayslake and wander through several additional preserves (Fourth Lake, McDonalds Woods, Hastings Lake). This is not a rail trail, but is mostly flat with a couple of underpasses. It is mostly high quality limestone. Lot of prairie plants to see, butterflies and birds. The route is mostly open, with a few shady spots. There are good restrooms at the start and several along the way. Some of the water fountains are working.

Please arrive 15 minutes early to prepare.

Casual ride. No one left behind.

Reminders: Helmets are expected safety gear. Bike must be in reasonable condition. Guests are welcome to join us for one ride but are expected to join the club for additional rides (insurance requirements). Fountains may be disabled so bring enough water.

Starting Location:
Rollins Savanna Forest Preserve (20160 W Washington St, Grayslake)

Distance: 25 miles
Average Speed: 10-12 mph
Leader: Wayne (heinmiller.il@prodigy.net)
