Ride Fox River Trail
April 24, 2021
10 AM

This Saturday is "Celebrate Trails Day" (according to the Rails to Trails Conservancy). Join us for a ride on the Fox River Trail from Elgin to celebrate one of the great trails in our area. We'll start at the Elgin Library and ride north to Algonquin before turning around to return to the library. This is a good early season ride. It is a paved trail. Along the Fox River it is protected somewhat from windy spring weather. It has easy options for fewer or more miles as you feel able.

We'll start from the Elgin library at 10 AM (please arrive 15 minutes earlier to prepare). The library will be open with restrooms available. We'll head north along the Fox River Trail. We'll take things easy for this ride. No one will be left behind. Temps should be in the 50's for our ride with light wind. There is a possibility of rain. I'll cancel by 8 AM in rain looks possible.

Reminders: Helmets are expected safety gear. Guests are welcome to join us for one ride but are expected to join the club for additional rides (insurance requirements). Bring a mask to use restrooms. We'll practice appropriate social distancing when not riding. Fountains will probably be disabled so bring enough water.

Let me know you are coming so we don't leave without you.

Starting Location:
Gail Borden Library in Elgin. (270 N. Grove Ave.) Directions to library: West on Golf/Rt 58 until it ends at Grove Ave in Elgin. Left on Grove Ave. Library is on the right. We'll meet on the north side of the parking lot near Ann Street.

Distance: 20 miles
Average Speed: 8-12 mph
Leader: Wayne (heinmiller.il@prodigy.net)
