Saturday,October 10 for Port Washington Ride
October 10, 2020
Saturday,October 10 9:30

Saturday, October 10 for a ride on the Ozaukee Trail from Mequon to Port
Washington. We'll start at 9:30 AM from the parking lot near the
intersection of Mequon
and Cedarburg Road. (The community center has been torn down.) There will
be restrooms at the library near the start. Plan an hour and 45 minutes to
2 hours from
Schaumburg. We'll plan to grab lunch at the Dockside Deli in Port
Washington (take out). Or bring a lunch. The ride is about 32 miles round
trip. We'll ride at a casual speed, 8-12 mph, with no one left behind.

This is an easy to cycle, scenic, well-marked, paved trail/route over an old
trolley line. The route is not totally flat. There are a few small hills.
(On the return we have to ride up from Lake Michigan for a bit.) The trail
passes through the towns of Cedarburg and Grafton where there are some
on-road segments. We will be cycling through farmland on tree-lined trails,
crossing rivers on historic bridges, cycling over the expressway and ending
up in the Port Washington Marina on the shore of Lake Michigan. This is a
favorite ride of many club members.

The festivals in Cedarburg have been canceled this fall.

COVID status in Wisconsin could change our plans.

I'll post more details in a few days.
