Don’t miss this Picturesque ride! Join us on a ride from St. Charles through Geneva, Batavia, Aurora to Oswego and back to St. Charles. Around 33 miles round trip if you continue to Oswego. For those of you that only want a 20-22 mile trip (99% shade) you can turn around when we hit North Aurora and return on the West side of the Fox. Ride will start Early at 8:00. so be there at 7:45 to check in. Around 9-13 MPH casual speed, Fewer riders on the trail at this time.
All paved from St. Charles to Aurora. Paved/limestone mix from Aurora to Oswego. Almost all shady paths except for the last 3 miles. Several Bathroom stops.
For anyone that wishes to continue from Aurora to Oswego, there are two optional lunch stops if you wish.
We will begin from our new start point in St. Charles. (Not Bennett Park because of it’s limited parking).
St. Charles is about 35 minutes from Schaumburg at that time of the morning. Follow RT 59 South and turn West on Stearns Road. Follow Stearns and it will curve to the left and turn into RT 25. Stay Stay on 25 thru St. Charles until you hit RT 64. (Rt 64 is also known as Main Street or North Avenue.)
Turn RIGHT on RT 64. In 2 blocks turn left on 3rd Avenue and immediately turn Right into the parking lot.
(The parking lot is on S. 3rd Avenue and Walnut Avenue). This is on the EAST side of the fox river. (Do not cross the West side of the Fox to the other 3rd street and Walnut). (Watch out if you program your GPS. It may take you to 3rd Street, not 3rd Avenue.)
Alternate route: 59 to rt 64, right to downtown St. Charles, Turn Left on 3rd Avenue then into the parking lot on your right.
New members – if you have not taken the Fox trails South before, I consider our ride the most beautiful part of the Fox River!
