This Saturday's ride will be the Cal-Sag Trail, which travels alongside the Cal-Sag Canal, starting in Lemont and riding to Alsip and back (26 miles). We will meet at 9:15, to begin riding at 9:30. There is a port-a-potty at that trailhead. The trail is new, well-paved, and mostly flat. Sections of open prairie; other sections along the canal with lots of tree-cover. We will stop for a couple of breaks, one of which will be Lake Katherine Nature Center, after 16 miles of riding--a good spot for an extended break with whatever snacks you want to bring.asual speed ride, no one left behind.
Starting Location:
Use your GPS for Sag Quarries, Lemont. (If your GPS doesn't show Sag Quarries, try Meno Stone Co. at 10800 IL-83 Lemont)..which is just west of the Sag Quarries entrance. Meno Stone is on the west side of #83; Sag Quarries is on the east side, so turn left to meet up with us..)
