9:00 AM
You're welcome to join us to enjoy the Millennium Trail near Wauconda on Saturday, August 3 at 9:00 am
The Millennium Trail is crushed limestone to Singing Hills, and is paved from there to Round Lake. Much of it runs through Lake County Forest Preserves. It is not a rail trail. It is generally flat with some gently rolling hills and one or two moderate hills. It is mostly open with a couple of shady spots to stop for a break.
We'll ride about 12 miles out and back (total ~25 miles). (You can always turn around at Singing Hills for about 15 miles. Or sooner if you prefer. Extra miles on the Fort Hill Trail after the Millennium Trail ride is also an option.)
Please arrive 15 minutes early to prepare and sign in.
Starting Location:
Lakewood Forest Preserve (Rt 176 east of Wauconda, 27277 N Forest Preserve Rd.) Use the main park entrance. First left then right into the parking lot for the former Discovery Museum.
Distance: | 25 miles |
Average Speed: | 8-12 MPH |
Leader: | Wayne
